If you've been looking at door samples and landed on Strada, you're looking at one of the cleaner, more urban lines in the range books - a slab-fronted design that reads as handleless or near-handleless depending on how it's specified, and one that sits well in both a compact terrace kitchen and a larger open-plan rebuild. Like most of the ranges you'll find on a fitter's sample wall, Strada isn't a fixed product with one finish and one price - it's a door and carcass system that gets built out to your layout, your appliances and your budget, so the honest answer to "what does it cost" or "how does it fit my room" only comes from someone measuring the actual space. We fit the Strada range alongside our other door collections, including the Tavola range, which sits closer to the traditional Shaker end of the spectrum if Strada's flatter, more contemporary look isn't quite what you're after.

A free quote means exactly that - someone comes to the property, measures the room, talks through what you actually want the kitchen to do day to day, and leaves you with an itemised written price. No pressure to sign there and then, and no vague ballpark figure that changes once the tape measure comes out.

What's Included When You Order the Strada Range

  • Slab-style cabinet doors in the Strada design, specified in your chosen finish and colour at the design visit
  • Matching cabinet carcasses, drawer boxes and internal storage (pan drawers, larder pull-outs, corner solutions) sized to your layout
  • Full CAD design and layout planning so you can see the finished room before anything is ordered
  • Removal and disposal of your existing kitchen through our registered waste carrier status, so nothing ends up fly-tipped or left for you to skip yourself
  • Joinery and cabinet fitting by City & Guilds trained joiners with a bench-joinery background
  • Plumbing reconnection for sink, dishwasher and washing machine by NVQ Level 2 and City & Guilds qualified plumbers
  • Electrical work - new sockets, under-cabinet lighting, spur circuits for appliances - carried out by Part P registered electricians who issue the safety certificate at the end
Strada gloss graphite and porcelain kitchen
  • Gas hob or range cooker connection and commissioning by a Gas Safe registered engineer where gas appliances are part of the order
  • Project management of the whole install from delivery through to final sign-off, so you're dealing with one team rather than chasing separate tradespeople

Not Included / Costed Separately

  • Worktops are usually priced and supplied separately from the door and cabinet package, since stone, quartz and laminate all have very different lead times and costs
  • Structural work - knocking through a wall to an adjoining room, moving a chimney breast, altering ceiling joists - sits outside a standard kitchen fit and needs its own separate quote and, usually, building control sign-off
  • Appliances themselves (oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher) aren't included unless you've specifically asked us to supply them - we're happy to fit customer-supplied appliances from most major brands
  • Flooring isn't part of the cabinet package, though we'll happily coordinate timing with your flooring fitter so the sequence of trades makes sense
  • Plastering beyond patching around new sockets or removed units - a full replaster or skim of the room is quoted as an extra if the walls need it
  • Rewiring the property's main consumer unit or fuse board, if it's not rated for the extra load a new kitchen brings - this gets flagged at the design visit if it's likely to be an issue

How a Strada Range Kitchen Actually Gets Fitted

  1. Design visit, hardware choice and written quote -- Someone measures the room in person, talks through how the kitchen gets used day to day - where the bin goes, whether you cook for a family every night or mostly reheat - and brings Strada finish samples so you can see the door colour and texture in your own light rather than under showroom lighting. Because Strada is a slab-fronted design, this is also where you settle on an integrated handle or a discreet edge-pull, since that choice affects the carcass build. It all feeds into one CAD layout and one written, itemised quote - doors, carcasses, worktop allowance and each trade's labour broken out separately rather than a single lump-sum figure.
  2. Order confirmation and lead time -- Once you sign off the quote, the Strada units go into production. Lead times vary by finish and by whether any unit is a special-order size, so you're given a realistic date rather than an optimistic one, and we contact you directly if anything changes on the supplier's end before delivery.
  3. Strip-out and first-fix trades -- The old kitchen comes out and goes to registered disposal. Plumbing and electrics get first-fixed before a single new cabinet goes in - moving a stopcock or chasing new cable after the units are fitted means taking things apart again, so it's done in the right order the first time.
  4. Cabinets, doors and worktop templating -- Strada carcasses are levelled and fixed to the walls and floor, then the slab doors and drawer fronts are hung and adjusted - this is where getting the carcasses dead level actually matters, since a handleless-style door has no frame or bead to disguise a few millimetres out. Worktops are laser-templated once the base units are in position, giving a tighter fit than working from paper measurements, then cut and brought back for fitting.
  5. Second-fix, testing and sign-off -- Appliances go in, sockets and lighting are final-fixed and certified by the Part P electrician, and any gas hob or range cooker is commissioned by the Gas Safe engineer. You get a walk-through of the finished kitchen and your written guarantees before the job's called finished.

What a Strada Range Kitchen Tends to Cost

A mid-range fitted kitchen in the UK - which is broadly where a Strada-specified job lands once you've got decent carcasses, a slab door finish and proper trade fitting rather than a flat-pack self-build - typically runs somewhere between £12,000 and £25,000, according to MyJobQuote's 2026 kitchen fitting cost guide. Where you land in that bracket depends on things that only get pinned down at the design visit: how many linear metres of units the room needs, whether you're going for a painted or gloss finish (finish and colour usually move the door price more than the carcass does), what you choose for the worktop, and how much of the plumbing and electrics needs moving rather than just reconnecting in place.

If your current kitchen is a straightforward reconnection - same sink position, same cooker point, walls staying where they are - you're generally at the lower end of that range. If you're changing the layout, adding a peninsula or island, or the existing wiring and pipework need bringing up to standard before anything new goes in, the figure moves up. None of this replaces an actual quote: a free site visit is what turns a bracket like this into a number you can plan around, itemised so you can see exactly what you're paying for the units versus the worktop versus the fitting labour.

What Precision Fitting a Slab Door Like Strada Actually Takes

Slab doors like Strada show every misalignment - there's no frame or bead to hide a carcass that's a few millimetres out of level, so the fit stands or falls on how precisely the units go in before a single door gets hung. That's why City & Guilds trained joiners with a bench-joinery background hang and adjust the doors themselves rather than leaving it to whoever's on site that day, and why the electrician wiring in under-cabinet lighting for a handleless run works from the same CAD layout as the joiner, not a separate set of measurements taken later.

We've been fitting kitchens - Strada and every other range on the wall - across Derby and Derbyshire for around two decades, and the guarantee reflects that: 5 years on the labour and installation, 2 years on the products. Plumbing reconnections and gas hob commissioning go through NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds qualified plumbers and Gas Safe registered engineers respectively, and any waste - old units, packaging, offcuts - leaves the property through our registered waste carrier status rather than ending up in a skip on your drive. We're also members of CITB and the Federation of Small Businesses. The team's own line on this, and one meant literally: we only fit kitchens to the standard we'd want in our own homes, and we put that in writing before work starts.

Fitting the Strada Range Across Derby and the Surrounding Area

Derby is where most of our Strada range work happens, from Victorian terraces around Normanton and Rose Hill with narrow galley kitchens where a slab-fronted design helps a tight room feel less cluttered, through to the newer estate builds out towards Chellaston and Mickleover where open-plan kitchen-diners suit Strada's cleaner look at a larger scale. We're based at our workshop on Stenson Road in Sunny Hill, which puts us within easy reach of Allestree, Littleover, Spondon and the city centre without a long drive eating into the working day.

Beyond Derby itself, we regularly fit kitchens - Strada and our other ranges - across Derbyshire and into Nottinghamshire: Chesterfield, Long Eaton, Belper, Ilkeston, Heanor, Alfreton, Swadlincote, Ripley, Matlock, Dronfield, Duffield, Wirksworth, Bakewell and Buxton, plus Nottingham and the wider Nottinghamshire area. Older stone-built properties around Matlock, Bakewell and Wirksworth sometimes bring solid or uneven walls that need a bit more care when fixing cabinets level and square - something that gets checked at the design visit rather than discovered halfway through the fit.

Strada Range Questions We Get Asked

What does the Strada kitchen range actually look like - gloss, matt or wood-effect?

Strada is a slab-fronted, near-handleless design, and it's available across a range of finishes rather than just one - matt and gloss lacquer options, plus woodgrain foil finishes for anyone who wants the flat contemporary door shape without going fully monochrome. Exact finish and colour swatches come out with us at the design visit so you can see them in your own kitchen's light, since screens and showroom lighting can shift how a colour reads.

How much does the Strada range cost, fitted?

As a broad guide, a mid-range fitted kitchen in this style typically falls between £12,000 and £25,000 depending on the size of the room, the finish you choose and the worktop spec, based on current UK cost data. That's a starting point for budgeting, not a quote - your actual figure depends on your room's dimensions and what needs doing beyond the units themselves, which is why we always measure on site before giving you a number in writing.

Is Strada a handleless design?

It's a slab door style that reads as handleless or near-handleless depending on the profile and hardware you choose - some homeowners go for integrated handles, others prefer a discreet edge-pull that keeps the flat look without visible handles at all. We'll show you both options at the design visit so you can decide which suits how the kitchen gets used day to day.

Can Strada be fitted in an L-shaped or galley kitchen?

Yes - the slab door style works in most standard layouts, including L-shaped, galley and U-shaped rooms, and it's actually a good fit for narrower galley kitchens because the flat fronts avoid the visual clutter that a more detailed door style can add in a tight space. Corner storage and pan drawer options get factored into the CAD layout so the design works with your specific room shape rather than a generic template.

What worktops pair well with the Strada range?

Because the door is quite plain and linear, it tends to work with almost anything - a contrasting stone worktop (granite, quartz or Dekton) gives a strong visual break from the flat cabinet fronts, while a matching or complementary laminate keeps costs down for a first fit. Worktops are quoted separately from the cabinet package since the material choice changes both the price and the lead time by a fair amount.

Can I get a free quote for the Strada range without any obligation to book?

Yes. The design visit and the written quote that follows it are both free and come with no obligation to go ahead - plenty of people use it to get a real number to plan around before deciding whether now's the right time, and that's a perfectly reasonable use of the visit.

What's the lead time for ordering and fitting a Strada range kitchen?

It varies by finish and by how much of the order is a standard size versus a special one, so we give you a realistic date once your specification is confirmed rather than a generic figure upfront. If anything changes on the supplier's end during the order - which does happen occasionally with any range - we'll tell you straight away rather than let you find out when the delivery doesn't turn up.

Is the Strada range durable enough for a busy family kitchen?

The cabinet carcasses and door construction are built to standard kitchen-grade specification regardless of which door style you choose, so day-to-day durability comes down more to finish choice than the Strada design itself - a matt lacquer finish shows fingerprints more readily than a textured woodgrain foil, for example, which is worth discussing if you've got young children or a household that's hard on kitchen surfaces. We'll flag that kind of practical trade-off honestly at the design visit rather than just sell you the look.

If part of my Strada order is discontinued partway through the project, what happens?

It's uncommon, but door ranges do occasionally get updated or discontinued by the manufacturer mid-project. If that happens on your order, we'll contact you directly with the nearest matching replacement option before anything is substituted, rather than swapping it without telling you - your written quote and sign-off cover the specification, so any change gets agreed with you first.

Can Strada cabinets be supplied taller than standard for a high-ceilinged room?

Taller wall units and extended base cabinet heights can be specified where the room allows for it - a lot of the older Victorian and Georgian properties around Derby and Derbyshire have higher ceilings than a modern new-build, and a standard cabinet height can leave an odd gap above the wall units. This gets measured and built into the CAD layout at the design visit rather than assumed from a standard template.

Get Your Free Strada Range Quote Booked In

The only way to turn a price bracket into a real number for your kitchen is to have someone measure the room, so if Strada's the look you're after, the next step is booking that free design visit. There's no obligation attached to it, and no pressure to commit on the day - you'll walk away with a proper CAD layout and a written, itemised quote you can take your time over. Given how far ahead order lead times can run once a finish is chosen, it's worth getting that visit booked sooner rather than later if you're hoping to have the new kitchen in before any particular date matters to you.
