What a Storage Upgrade Actually Covers

  • Converting base cupboards to full-extension pull-out drawers
  • Corner storage mechanisms - Lazy Susan, Magic Corner and LeMans systems - fitted into new or existing corner units
  • Tall larder units with pull-out wire baskets and door-mounted storage
  • Internal organisation: adjustable dividers, spice and cutlery inserts, tray storage for baking equipment
  • Toe-kick drawers built into the space under base units
  • Appliance garages and appliance-surround storage for countertop equipment
  • Wine racking and separated recycling/waste storage within base cabinets
  • Retrofit hardware upgrades - soft-close runners, hinges and lighting - added to cabinets that already exist
What a Storage Upgrade Actually Covers

Not Included / Costed Separately

  • Structural work such as removing walls or moving windows to gain floor space - this is treated as a separate building job and quoted on its own
  • Storage accessories bought separately by the homeowner and self-fitted - our guarantee covers work we design, supply and install
  • Matching replacement parts for units originally supplied by another company - sourcing an exact match can take longer and may cost more, confirmed at the site visit
  • Extending fitted storage into adjoining rooms (a utility room, for example) unless it's scoped and quoted as part of the same project

How a Storage Project Runs From First Call to Sign-Off

  1. Free design visit -- The team visits your kitchen, talks through what isn't working - buried items, dead corners, cupboards you can't reach - and takes measurements.
  2. CAD storage plan -- Specific mechanisms and cabinet layouts (corner carousels, drawer banks, larder units) are drawn up so you can see how each one works before committing.
  3. Written itemised quote -- Costs are broken down component by component - no lump-sum figure with extras added later.
  4. Trades scheduled and supervised -- Joiners build and fit the carcasses and internal organisers; where new cabinet lighting or power is specified, Part P registered electricians wire it and issue the safety certificate.
  5. Fit and load-test -- Every drawer runner, corner mechanism and hinge is tested under load before the job is signed off, not just checked by eye.
  6. Sign-off walkthrough -- You get a walkthrough of how each storage system operates, written guarantees, and the old units and packaging removed under our registered waste carrier licence.

What Affects the Cost of a Storage Upgrade

Cost depends mainly on how much of the kitchen changes. Adding internal organisers, drawer dividers or upgraded runners to cabinets that already exist is the cheapest route, since the carcasses, worktop and plumbing stay untouched. Fitting mechanical corner systems (Magic Corner or LeMans units) or converting a run of base cupboards to pull-out drawers costs more, because it usually involves new cabinet carcasses even if the rest of the kitchen stays as it is. A full storage-led redesign - new joinery throughout, built around exactly what you need to store - sits at the top of the range. Because every kitchen's cupboard sizes, wall thicknesses and existing hardware are different, a firm figure only comes from a site visit; the written quote that follows is itemised so you can see what each part of the storage plan costs, with nothing added later that wasn't agreed up front.
