A kitchen plumbing job carries a different kind of pressure to a bathroom or a boiler swap: every pipe run has to survive being boxed in behind a fitted carcass, the sink and tap have to seat dead level under a worktop that's already been cut and jointed, and once the units either side are screwed down there's no room to redo a joint without pulling something apart again. That's the reason the connections on every job are carried out by plumbers qualified to NVQ Level 2 and City & Guilds, working from the same drawings as the joiners cutting the carcasses and the worktop fitters templating around the sink bowl, so a pipe run gets agreed before a cabinet is built around it rather than adjusted afterwards. Where a hob or range cooker needs a gas connection, that work is handed to a Gas Safe registered engineer to connect and commission, and any power needed for a waste disposal unit or instant hot water tap goes to a Part P registered electrician who issues their own certificate for it. Every connection is checked before the crew moves off site, backed by a 5-year labour and installation guarantee, and old pipework comes out with a registered waste carrier rather than getting left under the sink for someone else to deal with.
