Fitted kitchen furniture is the cabinetry itself -- the carcasses, doors, drawer boxes and internal fittings that give a kitchen its shape -- supplied and fitted as its own stage alongside worktop fabrication and any resurfacing or vinyl wrap finishing a customer chooses. Derby Kitchen Fitter designs, supplies and fits this furniture for homes and developments across Nottingham -- from Victorian terraces around Sherwood and Lenton to newer apartments at Trent Basin -- working from cabinetmakers with a formal bench-joinery background rather than sending out a generalist fitter to hang flat-pack carcasses.Because the same crew that measures the kitchen also fabricates the worktops and books in the plumbing, electrics and plastering around it, the furniture doesn't turn up on site as an isolated delivery waiting for someone else to make it fit -- doors, drawer runners and worktop templating are planned together from the first visit, whether the units are our own bespoke cabinetry or a supply-only range you've already chosen elsewhere.
Cabinetry, Carcasses and Built-In Furniture We Supply in Nottingham
- Bespoke cabinetry design and manufacture, from hand-finished Shaker doors through to sleek handleless designs
- Fitted wardrobes, home offices and staircases where a project extends beyond the kitchen itself
- Installation of supply-only kitchens already ordered through Howdens, Wren Kitchens, Magnet or a premium German handleless brand, for customers who've bought their own units
- Internal fittings such as soft-close drawer boxes, pull-out storage and corner solutions
- Coordination of the plumbing, Part P electrical work and Gas Safe-certified hob or range connections needed to fit furniture around existing appliances and pipework
- Removal and legal disposal of the old kitchen under our registered waste carrier licence
Not Included / Costed Separately
- Appliances themselves aren't included unless ordered through us as part of a brand package -- if you're supplying your own oven or hob, we fit the cabinetry around it but the appliance cost sits outside the furniture quote
- Structural work such as removing load-bearing walls or extending the room is priced separately from furniture supply
- Worktop fabrication is quoted and scheduled as its own stage, even though we plan it alongside the cabinetry on the same visit
- Building control or planning application fees, where a project needs them, are the customer's responsibility -- we'll flag when they apply but don't cover the cost
From First Measure to Final Walk-Through: Fitting Furniture in Nottingham
- Design visit and CAD options -- We measure the room and talk through layout, storage priorities and finish, then work up CAD options so you can see the cabinetry before anything is ordered. For a Nottingham job this visit is also when we note anything the fit will need to work around later, such as an out-of-true Victorian wall or a lift booking for an apartment block.
- Written, itemised quote -- The quote breaks out furniture, worktop and fitting labour as separate lines rather than one lump sum, so you know exactly what each part costs before committing, and there are no hidden extras added once work is underway.
- Manufacture and trade scheduling -- Once you sign off the design, cabinetry goes into manufacture, which typically takes a few weeks depending on the doors and finish chosen, while we book in the plumber, electrician and, where a gas hob or range is involved, our Gas Safe engineer around the fitting date.
- Fitting -- Our joiners fit the carcasses, doors and internal fittings on site, working around existing plumbing and wiring positions in properties ranging from Victorian terraces to newer developments, and adjusting carcass packing where a wall or floor isn't quite square.
- Sign-off walk-through -- A final walk-through checks door and drawer alignment, hinge adjustment and that every internal fitting operates smoothly, before we hand over the written guarantee paperwork covering both the furniture and the installation.
