What Our Touch-Up and Respray Aftercare Covers
- Colour-matched touch-up kits for small chips and scratches, mixed against the original spray finish rather than a generic tin colour
- On-site, dust-free respraying of individual doors and drawer fronts where a touch-up won't blend in cleanly
- Full respray of a kitchen where general wear across most doors makes spot-repair pointless
- Reapplication of a clear protective topcoat where the original finish has thinned with age
- Cleaning, lubricating or replacing hinges, runners and handles while doors are off for spraying
- A look at what's actually causing the paint to fail (usually humidity, condensation or a cooking extractor that isn't pulling its weight) so the same problem doesn't come back
- Legal removal and disposal of old doors, hardware and packaging as a registered waste carrier
Not Included / Costed Separately
- Structural repairs to swollen, water-damaged or delaminating carcasses – that's a joinery job, not a paint job
- Worktop chips, cracks, staining or dullness, which our stone and solid-surface team handles as a separate specialism
- Electrical or gas work behind or under cabinetry, which needs a Part P electrician or Gas Safe engineer rather than a painter
- Replacing units that have failed structurally rather than cosmetically – at that point a new fitted kitchen usually works out better value than repeat repainting
How a Touch-Up or Respray Visit Actually Works
- Get in touch -- Describe the problem – scratches, fading, peeling around the sink or hob – or send photos so we can gauge whether it's a touch-up job or a full respray before anyone visits.
- Site assessment -- For anything beyond a small chip we come out to match the existing colour, check how far the wear has spread, and look at ventilation or humidity that might be behind it.
- Written quote -- An itemised quote before any work starts, so there are no surprises once the doors come off.
- Preparation -- Doors and drawer fronts are removed, cleaned, sanded and taped off; hinges and handles are set aside for cleaning or replacement.
- Dust-free spraying -- Factory-grade spraying carried out on site using dust-controlled equipment, with the paint colour-matched to your original finish (including ranges like Farrow & Ball or Little Greene).
- Refit and sign-off -- Doors are rehung and aligned, hardware refitted, and we walk through the finished work with you along with care advice and your guarantee paperwork.
What a Touch-Up or Respray Costs
Price depends mostly on how many doors need attention and how they're finished. A single chip repaired with a matched touch-up kit is a small job. A full respray of every door and drawer front in a kitchen is closer in scope to a mid-size refinishing project, since it involves removing every door, spraying in controlled conditions and rehanging everything afterwards. Colour complexity matters too – matching a bespoke or heritage paint shade takes more care than a standard white. Because of that spread, we don't quote a flat figure without seeing the kitchen: a site visit lets us check the extent of the damage and give you a written, itemised quote with no hidden extras before any work is booked in.

Who Actually Sprays Your Cabinets
The person spraying your doors is part of the same crew that fits kitchens for a living, not a decorator brought in for a one-off – resurfacing and spray finishing is one of three specialisms the team works on daily, alongside bespoke joinery and stone worktops. That matters most on colour matching: getting a heritage shade like Farrow & Ball or Little Greene right against a finish that's faded unevenly in daylight takes the same eye used when specifying paint on a brand-new kitchen build, not a swatch read off a tin. Touch-up and respray work carries the same cover as a full fit – a 5-year labour and installation guarantee and a 2-year guarantee on products – and as a registered waste carrier, the old doors, hardware and packaging that come off during a respray leave site legally rather than in a black bag on the drive. It's work built up over close to 20 years fitting and refinishing kitchens across Derbyshire, and the company is a member of CITB and the Federation of Small Businesses.
Touch-Up and Respray Cover Across Derby and Derbyshire
We're based at our workshop on Stenson Rd in Sunny Hill, Derby, and most respray and touch-up call-outs are within Derby itself. A good number of those are in older terraces around Normanton, Pear Tree and Chaddesden, where kitchens were often built as single-storey rear extensions with one small window – that limited airflow is one of the most common reasons we find paint blistering or peeling around the sink and hob first, rather than wearing evenly across every door. On the newer estates around Mickleover and Oakwood the units tend to sit closer together in a galley layout, so containing dust while we spray on site matters more than it does in an older, more open kitchen. Beyond the city we regularly travel out to Belper, Duffield, Ilkeston, Heanor and Long Eaton, further out to Chesterfield, Alfreton, Ripley, Dronfield and Wirksworth, and into the Peak District towns of Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton, plus across into Nottingham and the rest of Nottinghamshire. If you're outside Derby, get in touch to confirm we can cover your postcode before booking an assessment visit.
Spotted Damage on Your Spray-Painted Cabinets?
A small chip left untreated tends to let moisture into the surface underneath, which is how a five-minute touch-up job turns into a full respray a year later. If your cabinets are showing wear, get in touch for an assessment and a written quote before it spreads any further – work carried out by us is covered by our labour and product guarantees.
