If you want a bench, dresser, island or fitted wardrobe built to fit an actual Derby kitchen rather than a stock size off a shelf, we design and hand-build it in our own joinery workshop on Stenson Road in Sunny Hill, Derby DE23, then deliver and fit it ourselves. We work throughout Derby and out into the surrounding towns - Chesterfield, Long Eaton, Belper, Ilkeston, Heanor, Alfreton, Swadlincote, Ripley, Matlock, Dronfield, Duffield, Wirksworth, Bakewell, Buxton and Nottingham - and because the same joiners who build the piece also deliver and fit it, awkward routes through terraced Derby streets or period cottages with narrow staircases get measured and planned before anything leaves the workshop.

Furniture built this way sits alongside a full kitchen fitting service, so a new bench or island can be matched to units, worktops and hardware we've already fitted, or to a kitchen someone else supplied.

Furniture Built by the Same Team That Fits Your Kitchen

Derby Kitchen Fitter started because too many homeowners were being passed between separate contractors, with nobody accountable once the mismatched finishes started showing their age. Our own bench-trained joiners cut every dovetail and mortise-and-tenon joint on this page in our Derby workshop, and because we're also an independent installation specialist for supply-only ranges including Howdens, Wren Kitchens, Magnet and premium German handleless systems, that same experience carries over to matching a new bench, dresser or island against units we didn't originally fit as well as against ones we did. If a piece needs power or plumbing built in - a wired island, say, or a dresser with an integrated drinks fridge - that work stays inside the same team rather than being handed to a subcontractor you've never met, and any offcuts or old units leave site with a registered waste carrier rather than in a skip on your drive. We put that approach in writing before a single board is cut: we only build furniture to the standard we'd want in our own homes.

Where We Build and Deliver, From Sunny Hill to the Peak District Edge

Our workshop sits on Stenson Road in Sunny Hill, on the south side of Derby, and every piece is delivered from there once it's built. Most commissions are for customers in Derby itself, but we regularly build and fit for Long Eaton, Ilkeston, Heanor, Alfreton, Belper and Duffield, and further out for Chesterfield, Ripley, Dronfield and Swadlincote. Deliveries into the Peak District towns of Matlock, Bakewell, Buxton and Wirksworth take a bit more planning, since the approach roads are narrower and hillier than in town, so a large island or dresser gets its route checked before a delivery day is booked. We also cover Nottingham on request.
